Live discussion and international experience: a series of visits by Professor Nicholas Kogan to the Department of Applied Statistics

The cooperation of the Department of Applied Statistics with Professor of Mathematics Nicholas Kogan has grown into an inspiring and fruitful tradition.

The next series of his meetings with undergraduate (OPP “Systems Analysis”) and graduate (ONP “Social Data Analysis”) students took place in the format of a truly lively interactive discussion. The lectures elicited a sincere response from the audience: after discussing practical cases on the application of mathematical tools and data analysis, an active question and answer session continued, where each student had the opportunity to receive professional feedback from an international expert.

The program of the visit turned out to be extremely rich. In addition to classroom work with students, Nicholas Kogan took part in the university’s main career guidance event – KNU-Expo, supporting the popularization of mathematical specialties and Data Science among applicants. There was also a meaningful working meeting with the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work (International Cooperation) of KNU, dedicated to expanding academic ties and further integrating the department’s curricula into the global scientific space.

This is not the first visit of Professor Kogan to our faculty. Consistent dialogue with leading foreign scientists allows the skills of our analysts to remain at the forefront of modern world trends. We sincerely thank Nicholas Kogan for his high assessment of our students, support for Ukrainian higher education, and meaningful communication!
